An Intriguing Horror

**NO SPOILERS** Story- 7/10 Gameplay- 5/10 Visuals- 6/10 Audio- 5/10 Overall- 6/10 Story- The story to this game was page turning. Towards the middle of the game I was pressed to speed through gameplay (which is simple to do) just to get through the layers of story and find out what the hell was happening. What I would call the side quest of finding all the hidden (and not so hidden) notes was interesting at first, but in the end not so. The game world was too repetitive for me to be intrigued by the limited writings of notes, newspaper articles, and letters. The overall story was satisfying enough, although the cliff hanger ending not so. The ending I feel could have been better constructed (although it was good) and the cliff hanger much more juicy. Although I left the game satisfied, it was only a satisfaction as of finishing dinner to have dessert after. Gameplay- Use, rinse, recycle, repeat. The game has a simple no offense system. Its a lot of hiding in lockers and sneaking about. You can just dash through though if you wish to merely experience the story (as I did towards the end). But as I said the gameplay is repetitive and the simple "hunted, not hunter" feel. Although towards the end you can dispose of baddies, most of the game is cowering under desks and in lockers or just dashing through. Which by the way are the only hiding spots in the game. There is a crafting system that is simple and will keep you checking drawers and backpacks for materials, but the system is very small, simple, and uninteresting. The gameplay is definitely not the heart of the game. Visual- Lets remember that this is a mobile game. And for a mobile game is has good graphics. I honestly enjoyed the somewhat old school cutscenes of the game. As though I was playing my Playstation 2. They werent super detailed, but they didnt need to be. They gave the story straight and simple and it was good enough. The entire game is just the same environment though. The hallways all look the same and it eventually gets dry to walk about the same "different" room. With the graphics and diversity that are beginning to show up on mobile (Modern Combat 5, Avabel) this game looses a lot of points for its repetitive environment. Audio- The entire feel of the game was eery. All the noises and ambiance of the game was good. The strange unexplained noises kept me hesitant to turn the corner. The music was decent and the baddies all had nasty noises that truly made the experience creepy. The audio carried the repetitive gameplay I feel. So all in all it was good enough. All I got. Overall- Im going to use the words of another reviewer I saw earlier; Half-baked. The whole game was half-baked. This is Amazon we are looking at. An ever growing company that has so much potential. I feel they couldve given us so much more. For the 6.99 (US dollars) I paid for this.. I want more. I dont believe it was truly worth it. 4 dollars is sound price for this game, and that is being somewhat generous. If you enjoy horror, the story here is intriguing and takes an unexpected turn quite a few times. Its somewhat classy but sad to say very half-baked. All in all if you enjoy a good little horror story and this shows up for 99 cents. Id take it. 4-6 hour game. Thanks for reading! Keep an eye out for more of my reviews (Righteousfox)!

Very repetitive but all in all great story line

This game was well worth the money it had some great mechanics I loved the story very much. Nicely done

Why mfi controller?

Why this game doesnt support controller? If this game support controller it willbe great.

The Chinese characters are broke...

Please fix

I like this game I rated it five stars!

Want my $$ back.

The game wont load, please refund my money since I cant play it.

BEST GAME EVER!!!!!

All of these people are crazy. At first I thought it was kind of boring then once I got father into the game it was AMAZING. To wrap it up. ITS WORTH THE MONEY

Good, but not my fav

This game is alright for a pastime, but in general it just doesnt quite hit the spot. It has a good story and the pacing is pretty good; however, the endless repetition of the environment gets old quick. The further you progress in the game, the more noticeable the "recycling" of visuals becomes. To me, a good game should visually reflect where you are and a general progression as you play, but 95% of this game are the same hallways or rooms with the same lockers, desks, and cabinets. It also didnt quite pull off setting an atmosphere. I felt like I was playing an updated version of Wolfenstein 3D. While I dont regret purchasing this game, I wouldnt go out of my way to purchase it again.

Best horror game ever

This game is really awesome I loved all the detail put in this game there should be a sequel to lost within but this was a really really great game what happens to Bertrand and the kid and the other characters can there be another game or a DLC

Not scary. Disappointed.

Full disclosure: I played the game for about 10 minutes. The voice acting is painful. The movement was frustrating though I appreciate the effort at innovating touch controls. And worst of all I found the encounter with the monster to be yawn inducing. Its not the worst game on the iOS store, but theres too many other, much better games to waste my time with this one.

Awesome

Awesome game loved it got hooked on it and finished it like in five hours straight

Awesome game!!!

My only complaint is that i wish it was longer, not saying it was too short, because in no way was it too short, I just want more of the story! Awesome game!!!!!!

Why am I here?

It is 2:30 am and this game is scaring me to death. I want to go back and finish (I am hiding in a locker atm) but I have to build up some courage. Love the game. Ok, Im going back in. If you hear a scream, come and help me ok?

Painfully Average

Lost Within is about as generic as its title. Overrated graphics and gameplay with cardboard characters, and a boring storyline that barely kept my interest. The enemies arent even scary, just like its atmosphere. The only thing scary about Lost Within is its price tag. Coming from an avid 26-year old gamer thats a huge fan of survival horror video games and horror movies, I think this might appeal to 12 and 13 year olds with rich parents. It was really hard for me to tap 2 stars and not give this game a 1 star rating. I gave it 2 stars just for creative effort, and because its not truly worthy of getting one single star like a lot of the free independent garbage that lurks around on the App Store.

Love it

Amazing game.... Love the story and the suspension

Amazing definitely worth the $

I got this game thinking itd keep me busy when I had nothing better to do, but it was so gripping! I couldnt put it down, and the end was such a good plot twist! Sad I just finished it but glad I experienced it!!

Controls too clunky, not intuitive at all

Will update this review if needed after playing for a while. I do not see the "beautiful graphics", etc. described in other reviews. Seems very primitive compared to other contemporary games, some of which are free!

This game was awesome

I really love this game & Im a bit sad that I beat it I wish there was a part two

It really scared me

Nice game Amazon, it kept me awake all night

I find controls to be easy to learn

I found the controls pretty easy to pick up on. A few things took me awhile to pick up on, like peeking around corners. I had previously attempted to play Forgotten Memories and the sloppy controls were impossible. So I am loving Lost Within by comparison!
